Things to Check for When Your Jerky Slicer is Not Slicing Properly
My jerky slicer is not cutting properly, how do I fix it?
If your jerky slicer is not cutting the meat properly, please make
sure to check the blades are properly arranged (Flat edge of blade against flat edge of blade).
Please note the following:
- On each individual blade, there is a beveled side and a flat side. All Flat Edges of the blades must be touching the flat edges of the blades on the opposite shaft
If you observe that the jerky slicer is still not cutting properly or there is a very slight gap in between the blades, you can try the following steps:
- Within the area circled in red, arrange only the very last set of blades on the very end of the shafts to have their beveled sides against each other instead of the flat sides. This will allow the other blades flat edges to properly touch each other and apply slight tension to the shaft assemblies. Meat will not slice on the very last blade, but this suggested arrangement can help apply the proper tension to the other blades.
See below for reference photos
of the suggested arrangement:
Once you have confirmed that the blades are properly
assembled, please make sure your combs are properly inserted. Like with the
tenderizer, the teeth of the combs should rest on the in between the
blade assemblies. For a demonstration on inserting the combs and checking the wear items before operating, please check out the following video on
our tenderizer.
Finally, please check the condition of the wear items such
as the shaft protectors, blades, and combs. If they are not in a good condition
or are missing, you will need to order replacements. Please give us a call at
